 Very unstable and shaky table July 22, 2010

I completed assembling the table exactly the way as instructed in the manual. The final completed table was very shaky and unstable. It shakes like a pendulum. I am very upset with this product.
I had spent 2 hrs assembling this night table but the final product was completely unsatisfactory. The table is shaking from two places. One, from the top where the four legs are fixed with the top surface (or the drawer). Second, from the bottom, where the four legs are connected with the lower shelf.
With full respect i would request the seller to improve this product.
I am planning to throw it away and get a new one from IKEA.

This is a very nice table. It took about 40 minutes to put together. It has good weight and a nice presence. It looks substantial in the room,and I love the functionality. With the lower shelf and drawer, it holds a lot of stuff. I bought two, one for the guest bedroom and one for a seating area in the living room. I really like the way they look. This goes in the "Good Purchase" category.

Great value, easy to put together. Thought I might have to ask my husband but instructions were easy and in enough detail even down to what screw to use in what place. Arrived in perfect condition. Looks great and serves the purpose I needed it for.

Ok. So I bought two of these tables and I was a little worried after reading the reviews that it was hard to assemble, and/or that screws were too long or people were splitting the top while trying to attach it. I was even more worried when mine arrived and there were no assembly instructions at all - just a box of parts. But you know what? It wasn't exactly rocket science to figure out that the small phillips screws were for the drawer, the longer, fatter screws for the rest of it, and the short fatter screws were for attaching the table-top. I am a woman who has assembled a few bookshelves and office chairs in my time, but I'm no pro. The first of my two tables took about 20 minutes to assemble; the second took maaaaybe 10. I used a phillips head screw driver in addition to the provided wrench. I really like these tables - they're perfect for small end-tables in our bedroom - a place for the alarm clock, glasses and a book. Very much a good value for the $32 price tag!! It's hard to even find used furniture (or pressboard furniture at the discount stores) for that good of a price, and these are very attractive.

This is the most infuriating piece of furniture I have ever owned. I barely screwed in the supports not even all the way and the wood cracked making it so the screws would not go in at all. I wound up having to use plastic glue to secure the support so I could actually use the table. The wood for the drawer is a bit warped making it hard to pull the drawer in and out. But overall after the glue dried it's a very stable table it doesn't wable much. And it's still gorgeous looking. But you get what you payed for. Though do beware the bottom of the shelf is ply wood so if your looking to be heavy things in the drawer look for another nightstand. I would recommend this nightstand if you feel lucky that nothing will happen.
Also a response to one of the reviews on here that said the screws where to long. Their not too long there are two different screw lengths that look identical except for the length and your supposed to use the short ones when screwing in the top. You really have to pay attention to what letter is assigned to what piece. Because the directions have no words just pictures and letters.
